Ahoy! 👋

Hi! I'm Nick Visscher, I like to say I'm an evaluator by day and a data vizard 🧙‍♂️ by night. I have nearly 20 years of interdisciplinary experience working in visitor-serving organizations like museums, zoos, aquariums and in higher education leading graduate coursework in museum audience research and evaluation. I'm the past chair of the Visitor Studies Association’s Zoo & Aquarium Focused Interest Group (ZAFIG), serve on the editorial board of Visitor Studies journal published by Taylor & Francis, and a member of the American Evaluation Association, Seattle Evaluation Association, and Visitor Studies Association.

I'm also principal owner of Spotlight Impact Data Design, an independent design consultancy based in Seattle. My greatest joy is helping people turn their data into engaging visualizations, reports, and presentation slides. I also share my best design tips and tricks on YouTube - I believe anyone can do great design work in everyday software like PowerPoint and Excel! I'm also a current member of the the Presentation Guild, a Certified Presentation Specialist (CPS)™, and in 2025 I  received a Microsoft PowerPoint MVP award for my contributions to the PowerPoint community. 🎉
